Mark Douglas joins Mercator Trust board

MARK Douglas has been appointed to the board of Mercator Trust Company Limited.

With wide knowledge and experience in the financial sector, Mr Douglas who is also managing director of Mercator Fund Services, has joined the now five- strong board where he will be involved in the broader strategic direction of the company.

David Preston, managing director of Mercator Trust said that this was a significant appointment and Mr Douglas would bring important qualities to the board.

“Mark's wide-ranging and solid experience and background will undoubtedly strengthen Mercator’s board and help us to continue to deliver a first class professional service for which this firm is recognised,” he said.

Mr Douglas began his career in Guernsey with KPMG in 1989 where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He has held senior management positions with Hambros Bank and Societe Generale in Guernsey and Sydney, Australia, and was previously Managing Director of Anson Fund Managers Limited.

Mr Douglas was appointed managing director of Mercator Fund Services in July 2009 having previously spent five years with the company where he ran the group’s fund administration business.
